Merchants Can Get Rid Of the Advertising Budget And Pay Affiliates For Results
Affiliate marketing is the exchange of rewards for advertising merchants products. The rewards may be in the form of a cash commissions or gifts earned by sending targeted visitors, who make a purchase or performs a desired action, to the merchants site. The affiliate can sign up with individual merchants or with multiple merchants in sites like Amazon.com.
The Difference Between Affiliate Marketing and Internet Marketing: There is very little difference between the two except affiliate marketers often write reviews about the products they are promoting. If they do not own the product they will visit forums and blogs to see what others are saying about it and write their review accordingly.
The art of driving targeted traffic from one main website to other web 2.0 sites is common among clever online marketers and affiliates but often overlooked by other advertising companies. Because affiliate marketers work behind the scenes, it is necessary for them to use non-traditional means for getting customers to visit their sites.
Affiliates Have Earned Billions of Dollars
Affiliate networks now have hundreds, if not thousands, of merchants with programs just waiting for advertisers to sign up and promote their products. Affiliates have earned billions of dollars in commissions over the past few years and many make a very handsome income without ever having to own their own products.
Many programs offer a multi-tiered form of commission based compensation. These tiered platforms can vary but are frequently structured around the amount of the sales made in a monthly period or the number of new sign-ups to the program.
An example of a typical multi-tiered sales program would be structured so that the commission paid would be (for example) 4 percent for sales of $1 to $500 then 6 percent for sales between $500 and $1000 dollars and so on.
An example of a sign-up program would be based on the number of new visitors who sign up for the affiliate program or other program specified by the merchant or business owner.
Marketing For Results vs. Advertising
Many companies pay enormous amounts of money to advertise their business and products. With affiliate-based marketing they are really just paying for results. If a customer is sent to their website and does not buy anything, they do not pay anything to you as a commission. They Only Pay for Results which means they only pay you if the customer buys a product or takes another action they would like them to take.
This is the most efficient way a company can promote their business and keep their advertising expense/budget to a minimum. It is a method that is highly effective for both parties.
If you have not yet joined, you should seriously consider getting involved in this very lucrative business.
As an affiliate marketer I am able to choose any niche I like, set up a site and some web 2.0 properties and begin making commissions by using my sites to send targeted customers to the merchants I'm partnering with. Anyone can do this and without spending a fortune to get started. The biggest hurdle for a newbie is learning the ropes.
